how we work
Find out how we’ll get you from where you are now to where you want to be with our six-stage process.
step 1
Introductions
Our first meeting together is an opportunity for us to get to know each other a little better. You’ll be able to tell us what your needs are, what you’re concerned about, and what you want to achieve in the short, medium and long term. It will also be your chance to find out a bit more about us, how we work and what our fees are. Because we believe it’s very important you have a chance to see if we’re the right fit for you before you pay anything, this meeting is always at our expense, with no obligation to proceed any further.
step 2
Discovery
If you choose to continue working with us, we’ll book a meeting to look at your needs and aspirations in more detail. Sometimes our clients already have a clear idea what they want their future to look like before they come to us. In other cases, our clients are looking for help establishing their aims. Whatever your starting point, at the end of this meeting we will have agreed your targets and have gained a clear understanding of your current assets, liabilities, expenditure, and income.
If you wish to proceed, we’ll ask you to sign a client agreement where we will outline the work we will do on your behalf, what you can expect from us, and the fees you will need to pay for that work.
step 3
Research and analysis
The next stage involves a period of thorough research and analysis on our part. Using the financial information you have given us, we will build up a picture of how close you are to achieving your aims and where you may be currently missing opportunities to maximise your wealth or better protect and preserve your assets.
step 4
Your Financial Plan
This is where we start to plot out your route to your goals. Your Financial Plan will be developed just for you. It may include a range of different options for you to consider, including options you wanted us to explore alongside alternatives we’ve developed based on our knowledge of what might work well for you. We’ll show you the financial impact of different scenarios and show you how to avoid possible challenges and pitfalls along the way. You will, of course, have plenty of time to ask questions before you decide which steps and actions you want to take.
step 5
Implementation
If you choose to move ahead with our recommendations, we can take care of the implementation of the plan on your behalf. Your plan may require just a few small tweaks to your existing arrangements, or it may necessitate larger, more complex changes. Our skilled team are highly experienced at removing the hassle and achieving changes to policies, plans and accounts swiftly and with the utmost professionalism and discretion.
step 6
Ongoing financial planning reviews
The making of a plan is, in many ways, only the first step on the journey to achieving your goals. There may be obstacles that need to be overcome further down the road caused by changes to the economic landscape, changes in your personal or family circumstances, or changes to your aspirations. While our ongoing financial planning review service is entirely optional, the vast majority of our clients choose to take advantage of our longer-term support and appreciate the peace of mind and ongoing suitability that having a Chartered Financial Planner alongside, can bring.
Our annual review meetings will give you a chance to look at how well things are working for you and the progress of your investments. Together, we will review your arrangements to ensure we’re continuing to maximise all available tax planning and investment management opportunities. It also allows us to keep you advised on how any changes in legislation will impact your goals and what we can do to improve your outcomes.
Just as importantly, we remain available to answer your questions whenever you need us.
